Recall - Peppermint Organic Herbal Tea - sold in "bulk"

The following recall notice is from HSW:

Event Hightlights
Event Update - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration report of a recall involving Peppermint Organic Herbal Tea produced by Aromatics Inc., Basin City, WA, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The Peppermint Organic Herbal Tea was distributed nationwide in the U.S. through Teavana retail stores and through mail and internet orders. The Peppermint Organic Herbal Tea is sold measured to customer’s orders in retail stores and sold in 2 oz pre-packaged pouches by mail order or internet. Retail store stock was sold between December 4, 2010 and February 16, 2011. Mail order and internet stock was sold between November 30, 2010 and February 16, 2011. HSW confirmed with Teavana Customer Service that affected tea may have been shipped to Canadian customers.

The Metropolitan Tea Company has been identified as a Canadian distributor. Some of the organic teas identified in the table above may have been repackaged into smaller sized units with no label information. If you have purchased Organic Peppermint teas, and are unsure if you have the recalled product, check with your place of purchase to verify if it is subject to the recall. These products have been distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario, and may be distributed nationally.

The CFIA is working with the United States Food and Drug Administration to identify all affected products imported into Canada from the USA. The CFIA is also working with Canadian importers to trace-back and recall all affected products that may have been distributed in Canada. As more products are identified, the CFIA will continue to update its list of recalled products. 
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of food contaminated with these bacteria may cause salmonellosis, a foodborne illness. See Hazard Details tab for more information.

Consumers who have purchased Peppermint Organic Herbal Tea are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers may also contact Teavana Customer Service at 1-877-832-8262 (M – F from 8.30 A.M. until 6:00 P.M., EST) for instructions on how to return the product.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recalls. For more information consumers and industry can call the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342 / TTY 1-800-465-7735 (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, Monday to Friday).
